Christmas light installation cost in Portland
A useful Christmas lighting quote starts with the display you want, not a market average. Compare the same rooflines and extras, then check whether lights, installation, in-season service, removal and storage are included. North Pole Lighting Co. provides a free home-specific seasonal quote.

Compare the whole seasonal service
An installation-only number is not the same as a complete seasonal quote. North Pole Lighting Co.’s seasonal service supplies and leases commercial-grade C9 LED lights, with custom design, installation, in-season maintenance, removal after your celebration and off-season storage. The lights are leased, not sold to you to keep in your garage.
When comparing providers, ask each to describe the same coverage and explain what happens if a light needs attention. Check who supplies the lights, whether you own or lease them, and whether removal and storage are included before comparing totals.
What changes the scope of your quote?
- Roofline length and coverage: a porch or front eave is a different plan from the front, both sides and upper gables. Specify the edges you want traced.
- Height and access: higher peaks, sloping ground, narrow side passages and obstructions need assessment by the crew. A photograph helps start that discussion; it is not a substitute for checking access.
- Trees and entry details: tree wrapping, wreaths and garland add separate areas of work. Identify each feature rather than assume it is included in a roofline quote.
- Your desired display: colors, the parts of the home you want emphasized and your celebration timing shape the design. Ask for a written scope that matches that plan.
Front-only or a fuller display?
Start with the view that matters most: the street, driveway or front door. A front-only C9 roofline can frame that view. If you also want a side return, additional peak or wrapped tree, ask for that as a clearly described option. You can compare a focused display with wider coverage without treating them as the same job.
Use the gallery of real installations to point out details you like—not as a price list. The number of roof planes and access at your home may be different from the photograph.
Prepare three useful photos, from the ground
- A daylight front view with the full roofline and highest desired peak in frame.
- An angled view showing any side run, the driveway and the ground below the work area.
- A closer view of the tree, porch, wreath location or garland area you want included.
The quote form accepts up to three optional home photos. Tell us which features are priorities, your preferred colors and any gates or access restrictions. Avoid including people or private documents; do not climb to take photos. Maarten confirms the home-specific plan during your free on-site consultation.
Questions to ask before approving a seasonal quote
- Which rooflines, sides, trees and entry details are included in this total?
- Are lights and materials supplied, and are they owned or leased?
- How do I request in-season service, and what does the quote cover?
- When is removal planned, and who handles off-season storage?
- Has height and access been assessed, and what would change the agreed scope?
Book early for the best choice of installation dates. Contact us for current availability. If you want lighting that stays up year-round instead, read our seasonal C9 versus Govee comparison; seasonal removal and storage do not apply to a permanent installation.
